A Cybersecurity Consultant is responsible for identifying problems, evaluating security issues, assessing risk, and implementing solutions to address threats to a company’s computer networks and computer systems.

The job description of a Cybersecurity Consultant can include the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying vulnerable systems and suggesting changes to fix weaknesses.
  • Testing and evaluating systems, networks, and digital assets for potential threats.
  • Interviewing staff and managers about security measures.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies to minimize vulnerabilities.
  • Presenting test results to company leaders and management.
  • Monitoring the latest news and threats in the security industry.
  • Supervising other staff and overseeing changes to network security.
  • Educating staff on recognizing potential security risks and breaches.

Selection Criteria:

  • Successful completion of a university degree or college diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Completed one or more Cybersecurity certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT
  • ? years of experience
